*Update on 2020 Events*


Due to the close proximity during competition and for the safety of the athletes, Alabama Senior Olympics has decided to cancel the following events: Basketball, Cycling - Road Race 20K/40K events, Road Race (running), Triathlon & Volleyball.

The Alabama Senior Olympics' Board has decided to move forward with this year's events based on the current, state mandates and the overwhelming response from our athletes wanting to compete. If changes are made by the state government to limit sporting events, number of people gathered, etc., then the events will be canceled for 2020. In moving forward, each athlete will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival to events, hand sanitizer will be provided, shared equipment will be sanitized after each match/game and social distancing will be encouraged during all events. We ask that each athlete consults with their physician on the risk of participation. For athletes interested in qualifying for the National Senior Games, 2021 Qualifications have been adjusted to meet the needs of our athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic. See the "2021 Qualifications" tab for updated guidelines. Events are currently being rescheduled for this Fall. If an event is canceled or a registered athlete does not feel it is safe for them to compete during the outbreak, a full refund will be given. Please continue to check the website for updates.

The Alabama Senior Olympics is for men & women age 50 and over as of December 31, & includes 20 different events to choose from!



Title Sponsor:

Age divisions are divided into 5 year age brackets. 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, etc.

Age brackets for doubles/team events are determined by the youngest player.

Alabama is an "Open State" qualifier for the National Senior Games. Out of state participants are welcome!

2020 Alabama Senior Olympics 

Registration will open February 3, 2020. 


Registration Fees and information:

* Individual and Doubles Registration fee is $45.

This $45 registration fee allows athletes to participate in as many sports/events as they would like with the exception of Team Sports and as long as there are no scheduling conflicts.

* Team Sports will have a $150 Team Fee + $15 Per Player Fee for each team sport - Basketball, Softball & Volleyball.

  • Bowling ($10 per athlete/per event) & Golf ($65) have an additional  site fee. Bowling and Golf site fee includes one lunch per day.
  • Archery participants may only participate in one archery division.
  • Swimmers may enter a maximum of six swimming events.
  • Tennis players are only allowed to participate in 2 events.


Registered athletes will receive an event t-shirt.

Drinks (water/sport drink) & snacks (fruit/snack bars) will be provided at locations sites for the athletes if venue allows.



We encourage our athletes to participate in the Masters Games of Alabama and/or The Alabama State Games which are held every year. For more information on these games, see the "Other Senior Events" tab.
